As an internet marketing professional, my work involves visiting hundreds of websites every day. Some of them are good, some are bad, and some are completely amazing. But, every once in a while I come across a website where I discover something that goes beyond my normal understanding. Today is one of such days.
- Please Take Me to the Site right Now.
Now both the things were being shown inside the same button. To understand better, see the picture below
Every time I clicked on the big blue button, I was redirected to a website which was an AdWords advertiser. The URL in the browser had all the tracking parameters that normally exist in a website URL which is advertising using Google Ads. You can see in the picture that the nearby tab that is opened is a page from Scrivito. The interesting fact is that I was redirected to a complete unique ad every time I clicked on the big blue button. After some time I got tired and refreshed the page and was taken to the actual website which does not promise much. But before that, the website made some real money using the clicks they redirected to the Google Ads.
I tried opening the website again in different browsers, and it is working normally now. I believe they log the ip address to avoid getting caught. Why don’t you give it a try in your own browser and see what happens?
